Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 7th April 2025
These terms outline how JSN Vintage Motor Car Engineering Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides services to you (“you”, “the client”).
1. Who We Are
JSN Vintage Motor Car Engineering Limited is a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 09456768). Our workshop is registered at:
Little Acres, Rushley Green, Castle Hedingham, Halstead, CO9 3AJ
We specialise in the repair, maintenance, machining and engineering of vintage, pre-war, and classic motor cars, including Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
2. Our Services
We will agree the scope of services with you in advance. Any changes requested during a project may affect timescales and costs, which will be communicated clearly before proceeding.
While we aim to meet agreed timelines, classic and pre-war vehicles often involve unforeseen challenges. We will always keep you updated if delays occur.
3. Estimates & Costs
We’re happy to provide estimates for labour, parts, and materials where possible. However, due to the specialised nature of our work, these are indicative only and may change as work progresses. You will only be charged for time, parts, and sub-contractors genuinely used.
4. Deposits & Payment
We may request a deposit for new customers or larger jobs. Invoices are typically issued monthly or upon completion. Payment is due by the date shown on the invoice or prior to vehicle collection—whichever is earlier.
We accept payment by bank transfer only. Late payment may delay or suspend work, or the return of your vehicle.
5. Cancelling Work
Either party may cancel the job with two weeks’ notice. Any work carried out up to that point will be invoiced and payable, with any deposit credited toward the balance.
6. Collection & Delivery
You are responsible for transporting your vehicle to and from our workshop. We do not currently offer a collection or delivery service. Please ensure your vehicle is appropriately insured for all transport arrangements.
7. Overseas Clients
Clients from outside the UK are responsible for any relevant customs duties, VAT, or import/export costs. UK VAT will be charged unless exemption conditions are clearly met and supported with documentation.
8. Workmanship & Responsibility
We take pride in our standards and always aim to deliver work with due care and skill. If a fault arises that you believe relates to our workmanship or supplied parts, contact us immediately and do not carry out third-party repairs before we’ve had a chance to inspect it.
We are not responsible for issues caused by:
-
Pre-existing faults, corrosion, or age-related wear
-
Misuse, racing, or careless treatment of the vehicle
-
Third-party repair or transport
-
Failure to follow maintenance advice
We do not offer formal guarantees, but we always seek to resolve any issues fairly and professionally.
9. Legal
These terms apply only between us and you. No other party may enforce or rely on them. English law governs this agreement, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
